A Ghost Ship You'll Want to Ride

Welcome Aboard

Sipping hot chocolate by the fireplace, it’s so much fun to tell a good ghost story. What could be more fun than the legend of El Caleuche? El Caleuche is a ghost ship that appears near the island of Chiloé every night. Chiloé lies just off the coast of Chile.

Onboard are the souls of all the people who have drowned at sea.

The ship is beautiful, and it’s said the souls of the dead are partying, playing music, and laughing. But, the party is unfortunately short-lived, as the ship quickly submerges, engulfed by the waves.

Fortunately, for those souls lost at sea, this party will resume every night . . . forever.

For ghost stories, this is definitely one that won’t disrupt your sleep. If anything, this cruise ship wouldn’t be a bad way to spend your afterlife. It’s like a maritime Valhalla. Sign me up!
